PREP TIME: 10 MINS | COOK TIME: 10 MINS | SERVINGS: 4-6
INGREDIENTS:
- unsweetened almond milk (or your preferred plant based milk)
- your favourite buffalo sauce (I used Tabasco Buffalo style hot sauce)
- oyster mushrooms
- vegan brioche buns
- sour pickles
- plain flour
- oil, for frying
- 4 tablespoons of Umm Baharat's 'All Purpose' blend
- salt, to taste
METHOD:
- Prep your mushrooms by removing any debris and gently break them apart to your preferred size - the bigger, the better especially when it comes to burgers.
- Prep your flour by mixing in the salt and our All purpose blend until well combined.
- Dip the oyster mushrooms into the almond milk and then into the flour batter - you can do this once or twice.
- Heat the oil pot over medium heat.
- Fry the mushrooms until the batter turns golden brown.
- Lightly toast your brioche buns and then assemble the burger by smothering hot sauce on the buns, layering the oyster mushrooms and then pickles and more buffalo sauce.
- Serve immediately, and enjoy!
